While chicken breasts are undeniably the most popular cut of a chicken for many reasons, there’s something magical about chicken thighs. They’re much more moist and flavorful, and like breasts, take on most seasonings and flavorings well.
This recipe in particular hits a lot of flavor notes: sweet, spicy, salty, and rich. Some of that comes from the chicken thighs themselves, but a lot of it comes from Ava Jane’s Kitchen Sweet Habanero seasoning. This blend is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy, and will help caramelize the chicken thighs to perfection.
Speaking of caramelization, you want to let your chicken thighs get that deep sear. It will take longer than you think, and you may think you’re burning the chicken, but let them cook in the pan until they lift easily. If you sense any resistance at all, let them cook — don’t force flip. You’ll only end up with a mess to clean up and chicken that doesn’t taste as good. Trust the process it works.
These will go with any vegetable you like; I’m always partial to sautéed spinach, as it’s easy, nutritious, and I almost always have spinach on hand. If you have some rice, you have a complete, healthy dinner that will become staple in your dinner rotation.
